it looks as if the exhaust came off in one complete piece but it also looks like she took the flange off the cat with it.

Perfect opportunity to straight pipe it.
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:13 |

Non-zero chance she’ll love it.

its impressively loud. i think having to drive with that sound will be enough to get her to watch for curbs from now on
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:17 |

I had this same exact thought....
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:18 |

I bet there’s a magnaflow available for it...

What she should have said was “why does my car sound like one of those stupid G35s with blacked out tail lights? ”
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:20 |

Oh no not the flange!
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:20 |

Wow

I don’t think I could have done that if I tried. Truly impressive.

Lol, seriously.... like did she think it was a giant anaconda behind the car or does she need glasses? I mean she did completely miss the curb. /s
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:24 |

Did she go off that big ass curb to the right? I’m sorry for your woes, but this is hilarious.
Also, if you’re going to blur out your license plates... at least your big ole thumb please. /s
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:25 |

haha I would but i dont think she would. the exhaust might be ok, but the thing she ripped the flange ff of its. I thought it was a Cat but RockAuto says there are two, left and right, and this is in the middle.

#weight reduction bro

She already has.

At least that isn’t nearly the worst thing that could’ve fallen off. Unless something is crushed or kinked that doesn’t show in the pictures , a little cash to a good welder at will have that problem easily solved.

It will also convince her to never let your children learn to play a trumpet.
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:43 |

It should have given some warning i f it was cracking, Y ou should have been hearing the noise for some time.
It’s almost looks like something to report to the NTSB. It is a pretty severe failure. Did you take the exhaust down or is this a picture of it after it fell and asumedly you ran over it?
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:43 |

yea, big ass curb.
![]() 10/05/2018 at 13:44 |

large curbs dont give warnings. File under driver error.

thats what i’m hoping. I’m having a little trouble figuring out exactly what the part is that the flange ripped off of.

Resonator? Keeps it from droning I think

Krown is awesome! Even if you have to drive a few hours once a year, it’s worth it! NO modern
car that young should
have an exhaust fall off!
And the Megan exhaust is 304, so it will NEVER
rust off like that again! Plus, it’s cheaper than the dealer. And
nobody else makes an aftermarket exhaust for you, either.
How many miles on it? I know that cats are required to have an 8-year/80k warranty, and almost every Quest of that gen (none are older than 2011) is less than 8 years old (goes by in-service date, not mfr date), so you may be able to get a cat for free.
There are actually three cats on your Quest. Front left, front right, and rear. The one you n
eed is the rear cat, which Rock Auto doesn’t seem to carry. Magnaflow’s direct-fit
rear cat for your Quest is still under development and not out yet. However, they do have a “universal” one available (cut-and-weld). But again, do NOT buy it if you have less than 80k! Even
if you have a little more than 80k, they might cover it under goodwill, especially
it this becomes common on the Quest.
Nobody makes a rear cat for you yet because almost
all of them are still under the federally-required warranty. So if you need a cat, you can get a brand new one from the dealer for free.
While the aftermarket cats
all have a disclaimer that they’re not legal in California
, but the rust makes it
obvious
you’re not in California.

there wasn’t anything wrong with the cat or the exhaust until she ripped it off when she drove off a curb.
it looks to be called a tube assembly.

The early 90s Dodge caravans sounds badass without the exhaust hooked up.
This video does not really convey how bass-y it is but was the closest I could find.
